WebJan 17, 2024 · The Golgi organ (also called Golgi tendon organ, tendon organ, neurotendinous organ or neurotendinous spindle) is a proprioceptive sensory receptor organ that is located at the insertion of skeletal muscle fibers onto the tendons of skeletal muscle. It provides the sensory component of the Golgi tendon reflex. WebThe Golgi tendon organ is a tree-like sensory ending enclosed in a spindle-like connective tissue capsule, that lies near the junction of a tendon with a muscle. In man, some 10 to 20 muscle fibres are connected to one tendon organ. A typical tendon organ in limb muscles has an ending of about 0.5 mm in length. Histologically, tendons consist of dense regular connective tissue. The main cellular component of tendons are specialized fibroblasts called tendon cells (tenocytes). Tenocytes synthesize the extracellular matrix of tendons, abundant in densely packed collagen fibers. The collagen fibers are parallel to each other and organized into tendon fascicles. Individual fascicles are bound by the endotendineum, which is a delicate loose connective tissue containing thin collagen fibrils and e… breed town hall

WebGolgi Tendon Golgi Tendon Organs (GTOs) are mechanoreceptors found in most skeletal muscles. They are encapsulated bundles of collagen that are innervated by... WebThis action of the muscle is called a stretch-shortening cycle (SSC) (66). It involves many complex and interacting neural and mechanical factors, such as activation of the stretch reflex and muscle–tendon interactions. A great deal of research has been directed toward the study of the SSC (10, 11, 37, 42) because it has been observed that ... WebThe Golgi tendon reflex [1] (also called inverse stretch reflex, autogenic inhibition, [2] tendon reflex [3] ) is an inhibitory effect on the muscle resulting from the muscle tension stimulating Golgi tendon organs (GTO) of the muscle, and hence it is self-induced. breedt production tooling
