Cliftonville is a Catholic club (although members of both sides play for each squad) and Linfield Protestant, so their fans quite dislike each other .… NettetNone of them really have a Protestant or Catholic identity. It shouldn’t be a surprise that a team based in East Belfast has a majority Protestant supporter base. You get similar with PL teams, Liverpool associated with working class and Chelsea associated with middle class. It’s just the geography of where they are based.
