Gpio transistor switch
WebSep 30, 2024 · Or at least, I think I might, but my recollection of NPN transistors is that the collector is always set to ground and the switch helps complete the circuit. Like, using an LED on the collector with a 5v supply and using the 3.3v supply on the base, it allow sthe LED to turn on by giving access to ground when turned 'on' by the GPIO. WebFeb 17, 2024 · Whereas in push-pull mode, two switches (transistor/MOSFET) will be there inside of the microcontroller. One switch is connected to Vcc/Vdd and another switch is connected to the ground. …

WebNov 22, 2024 · This means the transistor current will need to be arround 1mA, and the GPIO voltage is 3.3v. Using Ohms law, 3.3/0.001 = 3k3, or if you take into account the bias voltage, (3.3-0.6)/0.001 2700 ohms, and this would be my choice. To recap.. Current required / transistor gain = base current. Resistor value = (drive voltage - 0.6) / base … WebA transistor usually receives a signal to the base junction from a CMOS or TTL system. The Raspberry Pi will usually provide 3.3 V to represent logic 1 output, whilst a TTL …

WebMar 8, 2016 · Mar 8, 2016 at 17:21. It rather depends on what you mean by "on/off" switch. You can certainly drive the gate/base and control some transistors directly from an output pin. To close a circuit between two arbitrary points you'll need a relay though, and likely a transistor to help drive its coil.
